I love to read other Indonesian travel blog. 2015 has been an amazing year where I got to meet with new bloggers to learn about the blogging industry, engage in new travel community, and travel to east Indonesia with other Indonesian bloggers. It’s interesting to read and learn from the bloggers experience when they travel especially in Indonesia. Their blogpost and quirky adventure has made me fantasise of when I can do that. I like to find new blogs to check out but these blogs has made my list of hidden gem for Indonesian blog. The list does not have to be the best blog but the blog that give the most informative information about Indonesia:
Firsta’s passion on Indonesia and writing made this blog possible. Documenting her trip she plan to contribute on promoting Indonesia’s tourism industry through the blog. I think the blog has valuable information on traveling to Indonesia, backpacker style or on a higher end ones. I like to check first here on exotic places in Indonesia I should visit especially the beach and mountain.
His youtube channel, Tekno Bolang is such an eye opener. Focused on the beauty of Indonesia, Bolang manage to bring the real Indonesian people / community through the lenses. It got amazing views and great storyline, which would stir your emotion. No wonder many tourism board want to work with him. The downside is its in Bahasa, I wish there’s more English content to read and share to all travelers in the world.
The go to site for Bali travel guide. It’s informative and extensive article on Bali would open your eyes about each area of Bali. I really like their Guides section where it divides into different area of Bali such as Seminyak, Kuta, Legian, Uluwatu, and more. Hence, a more thorough info on Bali’s hidden gem!
Jakarta 100 Bars is the best blog to find that crazy place or info about nightlife in Jakarta. This blog is more suited for expat or someone who want to experience the most out of Jakarta, Indonesia. It filled with tips, info, and places that expats need to see. The owner is a foreigner also who now resides in the country. I love their honest and brutal truth about Jakarta scene. Sometimes Indonesian can be shy on expressing their opinion especially negative ones.
I stumble upon her blog when looking information about diving. Her photo of the life below water has selected to be displayed digitally in the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History’s Sant Ocean Hall (Washington DC).
As there are many Indonesian travel bloggers of course these blogs are not the only ones I read. Here’s a list of my favorites that you should keep posted. Keep in mind some of them write in Bahasa. If you don’t know how to find your info just use the search bar and type the city / activities you want to find. Most of the blog would have special section for Indonesia. Better yet, just email them on their about page, I’m sure they will help you.
